Vehicle Electronics Manufacturing Transformation

Digital & Industrial Transformation · Vehicle Electronics

The internal architecture naming used for this initiative's technical roadmap has been generalized rather than published here, per employer confidentiality.

Context

Renault Group's manufacturing electronics landscape needed a shared strategic direction — a target state ("Want-to-Be") for vehicle-electronics manufacturing — and a way to get there that made sense across Manufacturing, IT, Cybersecurity, Safety, Legal, Diagnostics and the plants themselves.

The challenge

Building and steering a strategic roadmap that stayed coherent while the surrounding initiative evolved — including the way the role itself evolved (Product Owner → Business Owner → Initiative Owner) — and coordinating end-to-end across a wide set of stakeholders on topics spanning OTA (over-the-air) updates, diagnostic hardening, NFC-related initiatives, and the evolution of manufacturing information systems toward Digital Twin, Edge and Cloud.

My role

Progressive ownership of the initiative through three stages — Product Owner, then Business Owner, then Initiative Owner — with end-to-end cross-functional coordination responsibility throughout.

The approach

The manufacturing electronics target state ("Want-to-Be") was defined and continuously refined as a shared reference, then translated into a working roadmap coordinated across Manufacturing, IT, Cybersecurity, Safety, Legal, Diagnostics and the plants. Specific workstreams included OTA capability, diagnostic hardening, NFC-related initiatives, and steering the evolution of manufacturing information systems toward Digital Twin, Edge and Cloud architectures. Internal architecture naming used inside this program is not reproduced here.

System architecture

A strategic/organizational transformation program rather than a single technical system; its scope spans manufacturing information systems evolving toward Digital Twin, Edge and Cloud, coordinated with OTA, diagnostics and NFC-related workstreams.
