Orígenes began long before it became an entrepreneurial project. Its roots go back to my childhood in Catamarca, Argentina, and to my parents’ small shop, Almacén del Asador — a place filled with the scents of wood and ceramics, handcrafted objects, encounters and stories.
During my adolescence, craftsmanship was a natural part of everyday life. Family journeys with my parents and siblings were also opportunities to travel across the region, meet artisans and discover pieces carrying living stories, gestures passed from one generation to another and materials drawn from the Pachamama. Those landscapes became an enduring source of inspiration and peace.
At El Chorro, our family refuge in the mountains of Ancasti, objects inspired by pre-Columbian cultures and ceramics were simply part of the house and of the way we lived. Their colours, forms and motifs deeply shaped my visual sensibility.
The family shop eventually closed through successive periods of crisis, but that connection to craftsmanship remained. Today, part of this heritage continues in Catamarca through Flor del Aire Catamarca, led by my mother and younger sister, while Orígenes Art et Artisanat represents my own way of continuing that story from France.
For me, Orígenes is therefore more than a brand. It is a bridge between two places I love — a way to share the beauty and cultural richness of Catamarca, bring visibility to the talent and passion of its artisans, and connect my country of origin with my adopted home.
